Manufacturer of RIM ( reaction injection molding ) machines & systems, for use with polyurethane and other plastics, also, K-M makes the
LFI-PURŪ-Process. The patented LFI (long-fibre injection) process is a cost-effective method of manufacturing light-weight, glass-fibre reinforced PUR parts
Parts produced in one work cycle and without problematic handling of glass-fibre mats.
Krauss-Maffei developed the LFI process head to cut glass-fibre strands (10-100 mm long) from a roving and deposit them in the mould drenched with the PUR components. Fibres and PUR are deposited simultaneously in the mould.
Parts produced by LFI are lighter than comparable parts using glass mat and the unit price is lower.
